The Walk In Art Center, along with the Allied Artists are going through training to become volunteers through Compassus, a company dedicated to bringing hospice care to patients in over 35 states throughout the U.S. The focus will be to bring art into the homes of hospice patients throughout Schuylkill County and surrounding regions.

A training was held at the Walk In Art Center on Tuesday, June 5 in which artist volunteers went through the training program, facilitated by Volunteer Coordinator, Katie McNulty. "Compassus hospice is very excited and honored to partner with the artists at Walk In Art Center and Allied Artists to impact the quality of life for our patients and their families" McNulty said.

Art is an incredibly important part of our community and it has the power to improve the well being of hospice patients and even the families connected to the patient.
