2019 proved to be a big year for us at the Walk In Art Center. New artists joined our Artist Association, new classes were added for all ages and our Summer Art Camps were a success.

In addition, we added Corks & Chocolate, with a focus on Wine, Inspiration, Art & Chocolate. Our biggest event was our new fundraiser, "Dancing with the Walk In Stars" drawing in a sold out crowd with couples vying for trophies. To say the night was electric would be an understatement.

We introduced new initiatives: Fired Up Ceramics Society, WIAC Art 4U and our Teen Art Club is now called Teen Art Creative. The Folk Art Alliance introduced the Folk Art Gallery, which now has a permanent home at the Walk In Art Center, on our second floor. The camera club is still going strong with monthly meetings and outings to encourage and support photographers of all ages.

WIAC Art 4U spearheaded a few artist in residencies at local school districts (including Pottsville, Tamaqua and Minersville) and a few murals were installed on community buildings. None of these would have been possible without school and community partnerships.

The Walk In Art Center hopes to help the revitalization of our community, we pride ourselves on bringing different events to our community, all while focusing on our mission: to inspire, equip and celebrate creative and cultural talent.
