The Walk In Art Center invites the community to experience, explore and create art through classes, workshops, art camps, informational discussions, field trips and private lessons. The WIAC sponsors classes led by the areas leading artists and teachers. Our classes not only offer a great opportunity to develop creative talents but also a chance to explore the history and cultural background of the art being studied. We are here to help the community get in touch with their creative sides, push boundaries and relieve the stress from everyday life.
Sign up for a class online or pop in during business hours and say, “Hi!” We are happy to talk you through the registration process and about what class will suit you best. We look forward to seeing you here at the Walk In Art Center!
The WIAC’s Knitting Circle meets every week and is free to join - no registration needed. The Knitting Circle encourages anyone who is interested in learning how to knit or crochet, beginners to experts - all are welcome.
School Districts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Home School and any and all organizations are welcome to schedule field trips to The Walk In Art Center. The executive director, event coordinator and studio artists are always available to spend time with the students and give tours of the entire center.
The Main Gallery and the Folk Art Gallery feature local and regional artists who are often displayed in unique ways that invite visitors to expand the way they see the world. Recently, the Schuylkill Haven Elementary School students spent a day at The Walk In Art Center to learn about Pop Art and Andy Warhol era. Students enjoyed a tour of the Center, viewed the exhibition honoring Andy Warhol, enjoyed a power point presentation by a studio artist and ended the day with a coloring activity.

Children are the heart of our Community Summer Art Camps. Since so many schools are removing art and music from their curriculum, the WIAC is here to make sure that art education is available to our community’s children. Every year, programs are designed for students of all ages. Pre-K through high school students are welcome to sign up for different classes.
Summer Art Camps are led by experienced teachers and artists who love to share their time and talent. Scholarships donated by generous community members and grants are available to help kids who can not afford the tuition to attend.
The WIAC Student Art Exhibition Program features visual art created students in Schuylkill County School Districts. The program provides students and teachers an opportunity to display creative work from the classroom in a highly public place that honors their work as an effective path to learning and knowledge for all. The works provide the WIAC and visitors with both a beautiful environment and the means to be in touch with the future of our community - the students.
