Norma Weingast Hirsch
I am very fortunate to have a life in the art world.
Being multifaceted, I found my passion when I was very young. Learning how to reinvent myself to any situation, commercial or non-commercial, from an exciting career in the Garment Center in New York City as a textile designer, traveling around the world, to art teacher, party planner, and owner of Arts N Crafts with Norma, to activities director for retired nuns.
Now concentrating on my love of painting as a mix media artist specializing in impressionistic landscapes and modern contemporary art in oil paint, watercolor, and collage. Color and light is my day long obsession, a joy and torment.
From living in New York City to Bergan County, NJ and on to Orwigsburg, PA, whether painting in my home studio or at the Walk In Art Center in Schuylkill Haven, all projects touch me as I continue exploring the power of art- how it teaches us more about ourselves. When I create art, it enables me to find myself and lose myself at the same time.
