Kick Up Your Heels VI: The Walk In Art Center will once again be hosting the annual Kick Up Your Heels Fundraiser. 2015 will be the 6th Anniversary of this successful fundraising campaign. This is the only fundraiser that the Walk In Art Center currently holds. This fundraiser has a diverse offering and strives to appeal to everyone in the community.

The Kick Up Your Heels event brings in all aspects of the art. During the event, all of our fourteen studios are open to the guests. The guests have an opportunity to speak with the artists and learn about their art along with the ability to purchase the art. A live and silent auction are accompanied by light food and refreshments.

Funds from this event will be utilized for the daily needs of the Walk In Art Center as well as program development money in order to create and maintain the ever expanding Education and Art Programs.

The Kick Your Heels Campaign provides a unique opportunity that allows each individual to contribute towards the success of the Walk In Art Center. This event has grown each year since its inception. The Walk In Art Center continues to bring awareness to the community and develop our visibility. The Kick Up Your Heels Committee begins working on the next year’s event only days after the current event is complete. The Kick Up Your Heels committee is a dedicated group of Board Members, Artists and Community Volunteers.

Located within two blocks of the Schuylkill River, the Walk In Art Center builds upon the beauty of the region’s natural resources and is committed to ensuring sustainable design in its renovation. The Walk In Art Center encompasses 87,000 square feet of building space. Housed in a historic 1889 building, the Walk In Art Center was once the Walk In Shoe Factory that specialized in children’s orthopedic shoes.

In re-purposing the old Walk In Shoe Factory, the Center has revived this once important economic industrial site by making it vital to new economic opportunities in the arts, education and livability of the Schuylkill County.

Kick Up Your Heels stats: As mentioned above the number of guests continues to grow. For 2015, we anticipate between 250-350 guests. The anticipated dollar amount the committee hopes to raise is roughly $40,000.00. Every June a “Save this date” post card is mailed out to our attendance list from the previous year. Each year we send out invitations closer to the date along with hanging posters and flyers in various locations in the area. The committee has a detailed game plan on the donation request list. In addition to personally requesting donations from local businesses and artists, the Kick Up Heels committee sends out a table sponsor form for larger companies/families that would like to sit together and contribute in a larger manner. With the table sponsor the benefits are a ¼, ½ or full page ad in our program and a verbal recognition during the event.
