Five Walk In Art Center artists received recognition

for their work at the 57th Annual Allied Artists of Schuylkill County Exhibit.

 

Schuylkill County, USA – July 11, 2018 — This past week, four Walk In Art Center Artists were awarded for work in their respective media at the Allied Artists of Schuylkill County 57th Annual Exhibit. Audrey Bordonaro, studio artist, won first prize in Painting for her acrylic painting, “Queen.”  Michael McCord, studio artist, was awarded second place in the Under Glass category for his water color painting, “Downtown Girl.”  Phyllis Gallagher received an honorable mention in the Mixed Media category for her collage, “Living a Fantasy Life.”  Paula Jacobs took home two awards in the Photography category – third prize for her piece, “Sea Glass,” and an honorable mention for the photograph, “Silence.” Lori Quinn, studio artist, received second prize in the Mixed Media category for her work, “Market Street Turret.”

The Allied Artists of Schuylkill County is a nonprofit organization of artists that are committed to furthering the arts in Schuylkill County. Members meet once a month to conduct association business and participate in educational programs. The public is invited to attend meetings and become a member. As part of their award, the four Walk In Artists will be part of a week-long exhibition. Their work will be displayed at the Foursquare Gospel Church, 2300 Mahantongo St., Pottsville from July 14th to July 21st. There will be an opening reception on July 14th from 6-8pm. The gallery will be open daily from 6-8pm, as well as from 2-4pm on Sunday.

The Walk In Art Center is thrilled to congratulate these artists, as well as the Allied Artists of Schuylkill County, on their achievements. “It is so great to see our artists participating and performing well at juried events,” said Lisa Robinson, Executive Director of the WIAC. “We are always happy to see the arts alive and well in Schuylkill County through events and opportunities like this one.”
