Hayley Stokes is 18 years old and is a local artist of Schuylkill County. She is mainly a self-taught, mixed media artist. Hayley graduated from Blue Mountain High School and obtained her diploma this past year (2016). Hayley is always learning and growing as an artist and hopes to further her education in art as much as possible. She is currently an artist of C& H Arts. Her artwork is displayed at The Arts Barn, The Seed House and Market Square Coffee House.
She has participated in various group events and solo shows, and has won multiple awards. Her artwork is a mix of technical and abstract styles to make something one of a kind. Her work explores the human form as well as depicting inner emotions. Hayley’s signature work consists of bright, bold colored portraits, with surreal effects.
Her sketchbook is always close at hand, allowing for constant drawing, and perfecting her craft. Sometimes drawings are left in the sketchbook and other times they develop into more in-depth ideas and finished works. Heart and soul is put into every aspect of her art, which comes through in many of her portraits. Each project often consists of multiple works, often in a range of different media, grouped around certain themes and meanings. During research and production new areas of interest arise and lead to the next body of work.
